KERIC is a non-profit non-governmental organisation working mainly with children and youth aged 4-30 as well as adults. The organisation offers a wide range of activities with an extra added international dimension which can develop the personality of children and youth and differ based on the needs of participants. The mission of the centre is to connect the region Kysuce (northern Slovakia) with Europe and the whole world.

Two main topics of the organisation are: 

  • Intercultural/intergenerational education and (lifelong)learning;
  • Teaching and learning of the foreign languages.

KERIC was founded in February 2003. The main activities are conversational language courses, computer courses, international youth exchanges, summer and winter camps, seminars and trainings for youth workers from all over the world, creative workshops in the KERIC Underground club or at the local school, sending and hosting volunteers to and from Europe and Latin America. The organisation is very actively hosting the volunteers from all over the world, and up until now, it has been 120 volunteers hosted in KERIC. More than 269 young people from all over Slovakia were sent abroad.
